IRMXA – the Right Place to Start
The IRMXA is a great place to get started racing, or get back into racing. Here are just a few of the reasons why:
- We welcome first-time racers, both kids and adults, and love sharing our passion for the sport.
- We have racers from across Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota and Canada – there is no such thing as an “outsider” at the IRMXA.
- We are not as large and intimidating as some of the District events, but we believe in good, competitive racing.
- We offer a wide range of Classes for all ages and all skill levels, and believe racing is a great family activity.
- We believe in operating an efficient, well-run Association, and are committed to the satisfaction of our racers.
- We are committed to the safety of our racers, our spectators, and our staff.
- And, we believe in having a whole lot of fun.
Take a look at the About the IRMXA page to learn more about the Association.

Notes |
Required/Recommended |
|
Helmet |
Helmets should have DOT, Snell or equivalent certification. A good
helmet is the single most important piece of safety equipment. Never
buy a used helmet, as it can be impossible to visually detect a damaged
helmet that compromises safety. |

|
Neck brace |
A variety of styles are available, from simple, inexpensive foam
collars to expensive, high tech race collars. For convenience, some
neck braces can be attached directly to the chest protector. |

|
Goggles |
Goggles come in a variety of styles with a variety of lens tint
options. Make sure the goggles you choose will work in both day and
night racing conditions, or have multiple lenses or pairs of goggles.
In addition, consider tear offs or similar items as they will prove to
be invaluable in wet and muddy races. |

|
Chest protector |
Chest protectors, also called roost deflectors, come in a wide variety
of styles. In addition to safety, comfort and mobility are key factors
in selecting the right one. |

Jersey / pants |
A broad array of motocross apparel is available, providing both
protection and style. Choose a set that is durable, fits well and looks
good. |

Gloves |
Motocross gloves are critical both in providing protection and in
allowing you to securely hold on to the bike or quad. Make sure the
gloves are durable, and most importantly that they fit well. |

Boots |
Motocross boots provide optimal protection and functionality and are
strongly recommended. If purchasing new boots, make sure to give
